The Justice

In this occasion, i will tell you about a life side of  poor people in Indonesia. Few days ago, i read a story on internet. It tells about an old woman that steal some cassava that belongs to a factory. Then she was judge in the court. According to the law rule, he has two punishment choices. First, she has to be jailed for 2.5 years. Second, she has to pay back 1 million rupiah. She tells to the judge that she just poor woman and she needs to feed her grandson. The judge feels very sympathy, but as a judge he has to obey the law. Then he takes 1 million from his wallet and puts it in his toga hat. He says that people in that town has to pay 50 thousand too. Because they life in that town but they let a poor woman famine so she has to steal to survive. All people in that room put their money in the judge hat and give it to the old woman.
It is one of complicated problem in this life, especially in Indonesia. Sometimes we face a case like that. We are confused, we live in a nation that based on law but also we are social creature. We always have a will to help everyone. Then it’s more complicated if we are a judge, like the story above. I agree with the decision because he has logical reason why they must help the old woman. A case like that could happen because there is a far distance between the poor and the rich. So the rich man becomes richer, and the poor become worse. The rich ought to help the poor, give a part of theirs, so the miserable can survive. In that way, rate of poverty will decrease and this country find a prosperity.
