Old Trafford is a football stadium located in the county of Grand Manchester, England. Built in 1909, it is the home of Manchester United since 1910 except for the period 1941 to 1949, when the stadium was destroyed by German bombing. During this period, Manchester United must share the former site of Manchester City, Maine Road, with his rival.
Nicknamed the "Theatre of Dreams" by Sir Bobby Charlton, is the third largest stadium in England in terms of available seats behind the stage of Wembley and Twickenham, with a capacity of 76,212 spectators. Old Trafford, Wembley Stadium and Emirates are the only stadiums in England to be assessed by UEFA to the rank of five-star stadia.
Matches in international competitions, the World Cup football 1966, won by England at home, and the European Football Championship 1996 took place at Old Trafford. The stadium also hosts rugby league matches and concerts. Situated about 800 meters from the cricket stadium with the same name, it is served by the Manchester Metrolink tram line.
Manchester United still has plans to increase the stadium capacity. The next step is the reconstruction of the south stand, which has only one level unlike the other three stands. A reproduction of North Development forums and corners Northeast and Northwest South in the stands would the stadium capacity to around 95,000 seats, which would make the greatest of England at Wembley and its 90 000 seats disponibles32. But these developments are unlikely to occur because the stadium is located along a railroad track.
It's have terrific facility. If there is no match for United, this stadium become vacation resort for all of poeple. One day, I want to go to this stadium, see my favorite club, and it's really dream of theater for me. Arif Yudha :)
